12 August 2011: We have updated the Clinical Dermatology / Skin-nontumor chapter based on reviews by Ha Kirsten Do, M.D., IUPUI; Mowafak Hamodat, MB.CH.B, MSc., FRCPC, Eastern Health, St. Johns (Canada); Nat Pernick, M.D., PathologyOutlines.com, Inc. and Cecilia Rosales, M.D., Baylor College. Over the next several months, we will be adding more images and references to these topics.

8 February 2011: We have extensively updated the CD Markers CD1-CD49 chapter, which now has 68 topics, 479 images and 1092 references.

7 December 2010: Thanks to Dr. Mowafak Hamodat, St. Johns (Canada), for contributing pictures of alopecia mucinosa (follicular mucinosis) for the Clinical dermatologychapter.

21 June 2010: We have updated the Stains topic - Topoisomerase II alpha (TOP2A), reviewed by Dr. Semir Vranic, University of Sarajevo. TOP2a is a DNA enzyme that often correlates with Ki-67 expression. It may predict response to anti-TOP2a drugs (adriamycin, etoposide) and has prognostic value in various malignancies.

 

9 May 2010: We have changed the name of the Skin-Nontumor chapter to Clinical Dermatology.

 

2 May 2010: In April 2010, we had record traffic of 8,031 visits, or an average of 267 visits per day.  Thanks for your support.

1 February 2010: We have an AAD conference special for February / March 2010.  Post one dermatology job, fellowship or conference ad for the regular price, and post a second ad of equal or lesser value by March 2011 for no additional charge.

 

13 August 2009: We have updated the Smooth Muscle Tumors section.in the Soft Tissue Tumors Part 3 chapter.

 

9 August 2009: Thanks to those who visited our booth at the AAD Summer Conference.  We are working on implementing your suggestions.

 

24 July 2009: We have updated the Skeletal Muscle section of our Soft Tissue Tumors - Part 3 chapter.

 

13 July 2009: We have reformatted all of our chapters so they are easier to update.  We will also start to convert all of them to our new format, with thumbnails, better formatting and separate pages for each topic.

 

12 July 2009: We have now posted the Skin-Melanocytic Tumors chapter in our new format.  We have also posted these new / revised markers in the Stains chapter: HE4 (serum marker for ovarian carcinoma), Oscar Keratin (wide-spectrum keratin) and GCDFP-15 (marker of apocrine function).  We are starting to update Soft Tissue Tumors 3 - Muscle, Vascular, Nerve, Other.

 

9 July 2009: We have started to apply our new format to the Stains chapter, and have extensively updated the topics on D2-40 (a marker of lymphatics) and other markers.  For many stain topics, we now include a link to a company that supplies these markers (for example, Covance).  This feature was suggested by a visitor, who noted that after reading about a marker, they want to know where to get it.

28 June 2009: We have split Soft Tissue Tumors into 3 chapters, and updated Soft Tissue Tumors-Part 2 (click here), which includes Fibrohistiocytic and Adipose tissue tumors.  This chapter is also in our new format, in which each topic is a separate page that is accessed by clicking on the link in the Table of Contents or Index.  The advantages are faster loading of each page, easier to read pages with less scrolling, and the inclusion of thumbnails for most images.  We will be moving all chapters to this format over the next year.

 

22 June 2009: Congratulations to Dr. Marc Klein, Ludington, Michigan, for winning our jobs email drawing.  We sent him a check for $50.  We plan to announce another drawing next month as part of our exhibiting at the July AAD conference.

 

20 June 2009: Visit our Books page (or click here) to see the new books recently added, including books on cosmetic dermatology, surgery and infectious disorders.  We will be at the AAD Conference in Boston on July 30 to August 1.  Stop by Booth #202 and say hello.

 

8 May 2009: We are in the process of adding dozens of new Dermatology books, sorted by category.  If you want to advertise your Job, Conference or Fellowship, now is a great time.  Through 30 June 2009, we have a 2 for 1 sale.  Post one ad for the regular price, and post a similar type advertisement within the next 2 years for no additional charge!

 

1 May 2009: We have extensively updated the Conferences page, which now lists Dermatology related conferences worldwide.

13 February 2009: We have extensively updated our Skin-Melanocytic Tumors chapter.  It now has 29 pages of text, 61 topics, 468 images and 566 references.  References in green are to journals with free full text-no registration.  AFIP references are from the AFIP Fascicle, third series.

 

14 October 2008: (a) We have extensively updated our Fellowship pages.  We now list every known fellowship by specialty and location.  (b) We are currently updating Skin tumors-Melanocytic, and hope to have this revised chapter finished in November 2008, with extensive new text, images and references.  (c) We plan to change the links on our pages and chapters to open new windows, which was requested by our visitors.  We will incorporate this change as we update each page or chapter.
