Procedural Dermatology Fellowship
Opening for 2010
Under the supervision and tutelage of Abel Torres, M.D., JD in the Department of Dermatology, Loma Linda University offers a one-year Procedural Dermatology Fellowship starting July 1, 2010, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), along with Mohs Micrographic Surgery, certified by the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). The intent of the Fellowship is to train a candidate such that upon completion, the Fellow will be competent in Mohs Surgery Reconstruction and selected cosmetic dermatologic procedures.
The Fellow will also have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside the other dermatology faculty which includes Dr. Nancy Anderson, Director of the Dermatology Residency Program, Dr. Fred Soeprono, Director of Dermatopathology and Dr. Linda Golkar, Pediatric Dermatologist. The Fellow will also work with faculty from the Departments of Plastic Surgery, Ocular Plastic Surgery, and ENT. The Fellow will play an active role in the dermatologic surgery education of the Dermatology Residents by teaching and assisting the Residents in their weekly dermatologic surgery clinic, as well as participating in the dermatologic surgery lecture curriculum and journal club. The Fellow will have the opportunity to initiate and participate in clinical research and based on productivity, may be able to generate material for publication or presentation.
